“ Adorable little cafe. Awesome pancakes and bacon was perfect. Hubby's hash was just right. Coffee was delicious. ”
“ We were hungry for breakfast and decided to stop in Hays. Tucked in among the long line of fast food and chain restaurants south of I-70 is Pheasant Run. The atmosphere is old school and relaxed. We were shown to our table to peruse the menu. I ended up ordering the vegetable omelet with sourdough toast. It was cooked perfectly and filled with plenty of veggies. The husband ordered the Huntsman, which included German sausage. He liked his meal a lot, and mentioned that the pancakes were very fluffy. The coffee was great, too, and we never had to ask for refills. Added bonus that they offered Gunslinger hot sauce which is made in state. Also, the women’s room was very clean and comfortable. We definitely will stop again next time we’re in Hays! ”
“ For two years we have passed by this restaurant anytime we have travelled from Stockton to Hays and have always talked about wanting to try it out sometime. This morning after dropping the kids off at school, my fiance and I decided to have a breakfast date at Pheasant Run Pancake House. It was a pleasant experience. Upon walking in, we were greeted and sat within just a minute, met at our table by our server right after and drink order was taken, then minutes later our food order was taken and we waited less than 10 minutes for our food to be brought to the table. My fiance and I each ordered “The Scotty” (Two eggs any way you like, your choice of bacon, patty sausage, links or ham. Your choice of pancakes or toast and your choice of hash browns or fruit). The food was all very well seasoned, eggs were cooked exactly how we ordered them and our meals were overall delicious. A yummy breakfast. We will be back! ”
“ I take breakfast food seriously and this is legitimately one of the best breakfast joints I’ve ever been to. The chicken fried steak was amazing, the homemade gravy was perfect, and definitely get the German sausage. Service is top notch. Any time I need to refuel in Hays while I’m passing through, I’m going to be stopping here for a bite. Yall are amazing! ”

“ Stopped here for lunch on a long drive from KC to CO. I had the lunch BLT and asked them to add an egg, which they did. The bacon was really tasty and the sandwich was fantastic. The fries were just okay. But with the great service and cozy atmosphere, I really enjoyed it. Definitely a place I'd choose again. ”
